Alvin H. Lehl, 82 of Westminster, CO died peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, November 5, 2016.
Alvin was born on March 29, 1934 in Paxton, NE to Henry Lehl and Buelah Pepper. He attended Grant High School and Doane College. He was a standout football player. Alvin served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea during the Korean Conflict.
Alvin's career in business as a grain broker resulted in numerous successful ventures and provided well for his family. He retired in 1996.
Alvin was a great father and excelled as a grandfather, following all of his grandchildren in their little league, high school and collegiate sports careers. In retirement he enjoyed bingo, wood shop, karaoke and learning more about American War history and his ancestry.
Alvin was a proud man of our country and his family.
Alvin was preceded in death by his mother and father, along with his daughter in law, Terry Lehl.
He is survived by his wife, Angie Lehl; brother, Mike (Adrian) Lehl of Blair, NE; sister, Loryss (Gerald) Porter of Amarillo, TX; and brother, Gary of North Platte, NE; son, Randy Lehl of Mead, CO; daughter, Debbie (Jamie) Hamilton of Grand Junction, CO; son, Mark (Kelly) Lehl of Lone Tree, CO; and son, Rick (Lisa) Lehl of Highlands Ranch, CO; 10 grandchildren, and 1 great grand daughter who his legacy will live on through.
A memorial has been established in his memory for later designation. Condolences can be shared online at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the service will be streamed live for those unable to attend.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 11, 2016 at 1pm at Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala, NE. Burial with military honors will be in the Ogallala Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Fuller Building.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 1pm to 7pm at Prairie Hills Funeral Home.
