ANEITA R. CHANDLER, 80 of North Platte, formerly of Keystone, passed away April 16, 2019, at the Centennial Park Retirement Village.
Aneita was born March 11, 1939, at Hays County, Nebraska to Audley and Eleanor (Rathbun) Johnson, the second of 7 children. She graduated from Hays County High School with the class of 1956.
On April 4, 1959, she married Kenneth Chandler and a couple of years later, made their home in the Keystone Valley where they ranched until Kenneth's passing in 2004. Aneita had also worked at the sale barn and FSA office in Ogallala.
In addition to her husband, Aneita was also preceded in death by her son, Monty Chandler; her parents; sister, Estalene; brother, Bill; and an infant brother, Larry.
Survivors include her son, Tim Chandler of CA; grandchildren, Morgan, Hanna, Colten, Roper, Ian, Hailey, and Jenna Chandler; Great grandchildren; Laken and Bodrie Chandler; her siblings, Gary Johnson, Peg Edwards, Pat Peterson, Dave Johnson; along with many other relatives and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the Callahan Cancer Center in Aneita's memory. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the service will be streamed live for those unable to attend.
Services will be held on Saturday April 27, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Church in Ogallala with Pastor Ron Jay officiating. Burial will be in the Paxton Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday the 26th from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala.
