Barbara Cobaugh, age 62 of Ogallala, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Rose Medical Center in Denver, Colorado.
Barbara was born March 30, 1952 at Long Beach, California to Bill and Evelyn (Lindley) Richardson. She attended Carson High School.
On March 16, 1969, Barbara married Gary Cobaugh at Carson, California. The couple made their home in the Los Angeles area for several years before moving to Ogallala in 1978. Their union was blessed with 2 children, Gary, Jr. “Jamie” and Julie. While living in Ogallala, Barbara worked at Alco and TRW, before eventually deciding to open her own daycare in the late 1990’s. Being a caregiver was something that came naturally to Barbara, as she was 1 in a family of 9 children. As a young girl in a large family, she often helped care for her younger siblings, and starting a daycare was a natural fit Barbara.
Barbara was a loving and dedicated wife, mom, grandma, sister and friend. Her family was deeply important to her, and she was often at her best over the holidays, doting over her grandchildren, cooking big meals and making wonderful memories. Her cooking was appreciated by family and friends alike, particularly her fried chicken. She enjoyed her time at the lake, and loved going camping.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Buril, Charlie and Donald; and a sister Valerie.
Survivors include her husband of over 45 years, Gary Cobaugh of Ogallala; son, Gary "Jamie" (Robin) Cobaugh, Jr. of Ogallala; daughter, Julie (Billy) Thode of Ogallala; 8 grandchildren, Ethan, Amaris, Brianna, Teagan, Demi, Cienna, Shianne and Jayson; sister, Joyce Murdoch; 3 brothers, Joe (Patty) Richardson and Troy Richardson all of OR, Billy Ray (Laura) Richardson of Los Angeles, CA; and many other relatives and friends.
