Boyd Miller, 78 of Sutherland, formerly of Paxton, passed away October 28, 2020, at the Sutherland Care Center.
Boyd was born July 18, 1942, at Paxton, Nebraska, to Ernest Floyd and Anna Ola (Gordon) Miller. Boyd's mother was a teacher and taught school at their home in the Sandhills, where he learned until attending high school at Arthur.
Boyd eventually entered the U.S. Army and served until the summer of 1967. Following his discharge, Boyd did many things, working in Tennessee and Colorado before eventually returning to Keith County. He worked at restaurants in Ogallala and Paxton before going to work at Gerald Gentleman Station in Sutherland. After his time at Gerald Gentleman, Boyd worked at Titan Industries of Paxton for several years before his retirement.
Boyd enjoyed reading his Bible and refurbishing old canes, often shining them up, adding cloth, and giving them new life and use. He always had a knack for growing plants and always had them in his room while at the care home.
Boyd was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Floyd, Lloyd, and Cloyd Miller; sisters, Fay Aufdengarten, and Freda Coleman.
Survivors include his sister, Frances Stevens of Paxton; brother-in-law, Harry Coleman of Paxton; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday. November 14, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at the Paxton United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Baldwin officiating. Inurnment with military honors will be in the Paxton Cemetery.
