Brian McNeff (Timothy Brian McNeff) passed away on November 25, 2024, in Brule, NE.
Brian was born in Ogallala, NE, on June 18, 1964, to Bruce and Jeanne McNeff. Brian lived a large and vibrant life, and we are all reeling from a "Brian size hole" in our lives. From being the pint-size scrawny kid on the 8-man football team in high school to joining a boxing club as an adult, he always liked a challenge and to prove never to underestimate himself.
Brian graduated from Brule High School in 1982, being involved in many activities/sports/music through those 4 years. He then briefly attended college and joined the Army Reserves. Brian returned to Brule and helped his dad run an over-the-road trucking company and farmed. He eventually moved to Lincoln and held a busy career as a trucking dispatcher.
Brian married the mother of his boys and worked hard to raise them into the men they are today. Always full of ups and downs, they definitely learned many life lessons from Brian. During Brian and the Boy's time at Capitol Beach in Lincoln, he became the neighborhood "Dad", welcoming his Boy's friends (the Beach Boys crew) from all walks of life. He was always there for anyone who needed him. He met the love of his life, Chris, and quickly showed her how to live fully and carefree, showing her many adventures and filling her with crazy stories and useless/useful knowledge. They were married on a spectacular motorcycle trip to Colorado on August 5, 2016. He became interested in motorcycling during this time as well. They moved to Brule to help be close to his mom, Jeanne, and foster his wife's love of the peace and beauty of western NE.
Brian gave all he had to his community, joining the Lions Club and Fire dept and helping anyone with anything. He had the biggest heart and infectious smile/laugh. Brian became involved with a great motorcycle group, ABATE, and experienced many road trips, community service activities, and great friends. They went on an epic World Records longest poker run from FL to SD, from which he had many tales to tell. Brian and Chris had many adventures over the last 10 years and became loving grandparents, enjoying every minute that brought.
Brian is survived by his wife, Chris (Imig) McNeff; his boys, Seynen and Caylen (Hallei); his step-sons, Justin (Molly) Gantz, Ben (Amber) Gantz; grandchildren, Asher, Clay, and Andi; step-grandchildren Myles and Logan. Survivors also include his sister, Carol (John) Biel; his niece, Emily Biel; parents-in-law, Al and Beth Imig; sister-in-law, Cierra (Sean) McNamara; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, his brother, Andy, his sister, Toni, and her family, Tim, Ardena, and Jessica.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Brian's memory with the intent to support mental health awareness.
