Charles Ernest Gorham

CHARLES ERNEST GORHAM, 65 of Ogallala, NE, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at his home in Ogallala, NE.
Charles was born on October 29, 1950 in Excelsior Springs, MO to Ernest and Mildred (Cordwell) Gorham. He graduated from Hastings High School in Hastings, NE with the class of 1969. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1970. While he was in the Navy, he worked as a chef. He served in the Navy for 4 years and was honorably discharged in 1974. After his service he worked numerous jobs in many places such as Nebraska, Arizona, Wyoming, Colorado, and Michigan. He eventually made his way back to Nebraska, and was more recently working on a pig farm in Cedar Rapids, NE for the last 4 to 5 years. In January of 2016, he moved back to Ogallala to be closer to family. He continued to work in the pig farming business in Ogallala until his health would no longer permit.
Charles enjoyed fishing and spending time at the lake. He especially enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by those that were closest to him.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his children, Shawn Gorham and Trinidy Gorham, both of Ogallala; his grandchildren, Chantel-Rae Gorham, Zoey Gorham, Isaiah Hausman, Tristine Gorham, Dakota Fritzen, Dylan Fritzen, and Britton Fritzen; his sisters, Charlotte Montoya of Laramie, WY and Janet (Bill) Hart of Claremont, CA; special nieces, Becky Willitts and Shelly Hart Austin; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in his memory. Condolences may be shared online at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the service will be streamed live for those unable to attend.
Services will be on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 10:00am at the Grace Point Church in Ogallala, NE with Pastor Curtis Tschetter officiating. Interment of cremains will follow at the Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, NE.
