CLARICE C. ELMSHAEUSER, 78 of Ogallala, NE, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala.
Clarice was born May 4, 1937 at Campbell, Nebraska to Albert and Orise Heinrich. She graduated from Campbell High School with the class of 1954.
In 1956, Clarice married Dennis Lunceford. The couple made their home in the Hugoton, Kansas area. Their union was blessed with 4 sons, Doug, Craig, Kelly and Brian. Following a divorce, Clarice went on to marry Roy Elmshaeuser on March 4, 1976 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ogallala. Clarice worked as a bookkeeper for many years for the City of Ogallala. Following her retirement, Clarice and Roy enjoyed traveling, polka dancing, bowling and playing cards. They also enjoyed going to garage sales, gardening and canning.
Clarice was a long-time active member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she belonged to Circle II, the church choir and helped with the newsletter. She was an avid card player, and belonged to an afternoon ladies card playing group. She was a volunteer with RSVP and Meals On Wheels. Clarice had also been a member of the Red Hat Society. Clarice was also a 40 year member of the Eagle's Auxiliary #2839 in North Platte.
Clarice was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kelly; brother Clayton; and 5 brothers-in-law.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Elmshaeuser of Ogallala; her sons, Doug Lunceford and Craig Lunceford both of Kansas City, MO, Brian (Michelle) Lunceford of Lee's Summit, MO; 2 step daughters, Wendy (Rex) Christensen and family of Keystone and Michele (Allyn) Sutton and family of Ogallala; 2 grandchildren, Olivia and Ty Lunceford; siblings, Corella, Cleonice, Charlotte, Celestine, Cheryl, and Charles; along with many nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.
Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Circle II in memory of Clarice. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the services will be streamed live for those unable to attend.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor John Dickmander officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the Ogallala Cemetery. Memorial book signing will be on Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5 PM at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala.
