Constance "Connie" Rogers, of Ogallala, passed away February 7, 2024 at her home in Ogallala.
Connie was born on November 19, 1950, to Claude Frank and Marie Agnes (Hobbs) Day. She graduated from Atwood High School in 1968.
On November 9, 1968, she married Riky Dean Rogers. Following Riky's discharge from the service, the family resided in Sterling, CO, before moving to Ogallala, where she was a mainstay at the Variety Center for many years.
In 1991, Connie and Riky moved to Dodge City, KS, where she enjoyed working in the kitchen at the VA Nursing Facility. The couple returned to Ogallala in 2019 to be closer to family.
Everybody seemed to love Connie. She was a cheerful person and had a way of making people feel at home. She loved her dogs and had an abiding connection with her husband, who she sorely missed after his death in 2022. Connie enjoyed collecting roosters, angels, and bears. She also loved to bowl and participated in leagues with her husband.
Connie was preceded by her parents and her husband, Riky, in 2022.
Survivors include her children, Ricky Dean of Ogallala, Melissa and husband, Tom Haynes of Grant, Bret Allen Rogers (Lisa Resor Lyon) of Grant; grandchildren, Heather, Kelly, Jessica, Cody, Dylan, Brian, Vincent, and Zachary; two siblings, Pam Erickson and Claudette Hornkohl; along with many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Perkins County Veterinary Hospital in Connie's memory. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com.
