Craig Haldeen

January 10, 1967 — March 13, 2025

Craig Allen Haldeen, 58, of Brule, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Ogallala Community Hospital.

The story of Craig Allen Haldeen started on January 10, 1967, born to Don and Joan Haldeen in Omaha, NE. Craig grew up on the Haldeen family farm in Brule, NE. As a child, he could be found tagging along with his Dad, whether it was riding in the hot, non-air-conditioned tractor, setting tubes for flood irrigation, or doctoring cows at the feedlot. He was an active member of 4H, showing horses alongside his sister Lanelle, although he did not enjoy it quite as much as she did. Craig attended South Platte Public School in Big Springs, NE. When not on the farm, Craig could be found getting into mischief with his dearest friend, Rod. They were always working on cars and jamming to music together.

Craig found his first love, KarNel; they got married and together had two beautiful children, a son, Andrew, and a daughter, Morgan.

Craig spent many days working on the family farm, driving tractors and planting corn, all while Andrew tagged along continuing the family tradition. He enjoyed farming but longed for a change, Craig was introduced to construction and fell in love. He enjoyed every aspect of it, big and small; he wanted to do it all, and that he did. Craig started his own construction business, MACK drywall, named after his family. Known to some as MACK the knife. From working on big buildings in Denver, building houses from the ground up or making peoples' remodel dreams come true. His attention to detail was truly commendable.

In his free time Craig enjoyed riding his Harley, traveling to Sturgis with friends, tinkering on engines, making and collecting knives, all while jamming to tunes.

Craig struggled with addiction to alcohol for many years but with help from family he was able to overcome it and become sober for 10 yrs. He then used his experience to help others. Craig's heart was pure; he never wanted to see a person struggling, he would literally give a stranger the shirt off his back if they needed it.

Craig's journey on earth may have ended, but his heavenly story is just beginning as he reunites with his mom and his sweetheart Lindsey.

Craig was preceded in death by his Mother, Joan Haldeen; Grandparents, Carl (Grace) Haldeen, Keith (Lenora) Simpson; Brother-in-law, Keith Nosler; Uncles, Harold Haldeen, Alfred Haldeen.

Survivors include his Father, Don (Doris) Haldeen of Van Buren AR; Sister, Lanelle Haldeen-Nosler of Chino Valley Az; Daughter, Morgan (Alex) Liess of Prescott Valley Az; Son, Andrew (Candi) Haldeen; Granddaughters, Kaydence and Lily Haldeen of Benkelman NE.
