DENNY D. MORRELL, 72 of Ogallala, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Ogallala Community Hospital.
Denny was born January 8, 1943 at Ogallala, NE to Noble and Verna (Barner) Morrell. He graduated from Arthur High School with the class of 1961. Following his education, he joined the U.S. Air Force.
On November 17, 1961, Denny married Janice E. Wilson at Pierre, SD. Their union was blessed with 2 children, Barbara and Timothy. Following his discharge from the service, Denny worked at TRW in Ogallala before moving to Arthur and working for his father in the locker plant. The couple later moved to Tucson, AZ, where Denny worked in the copper mine and Buxton Smith until the early 1970's. In 1973, the family moved to Grand Junction, CO where Denny worked at UPS for 5 years. Denny started as a delivery man, and a few years later was serving as manager of the Western Slope. In 1978, Denny went to work as an over the road driver for the grocery chain, City Market. His career with City Market spanned 25 years and over 3 million miles, all without an accident. Following his retirement in 2002, Denny returned to Ogallala.
Denny loved trap shooting, hunting, fishing, camping and remodeling houses.
Denny is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Pearl Barner & parents, Noble and Verna Morrell.
Survivors include his wife, Janice of Ogallala; 2 children, Barbara (Steve) Baldwin, Timothy Morrell; grandsons, Dean Raine, Dustin Raine and his fiancee Sara; 2 brothers, Kenneth (Lois) Morrell, Keith (Lonnie) Morrell; sister, Beverly McClure; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Arthur Baptist Church with Pastor Ben Keene officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala.
