DOROTHY "DOT" A. HAGGE, 86 of Ogallala, NE, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the Medical Center of Aurora CO.
Dorothy was born April 17, 1929 at Ogallala, NE to Clarence and Ethel (Farrand) Worden. She graduated from Ogallala High School with the class of 1946. Dorothy went on to attend the Colorado Women's College for two years where she obtained an Associate's Degree in Drama. She then earned a degree in Education at UNL with a minor in Drama. Dorothy was a member of Alpha Xi Delta while at the university, she also attended classes with Johnny Carson.
On February 26, 1951, Dorothy married Kenneth Hagge at Ogallala. The couple made their home in Ogallala, while Dorothy taught school at Brule for a year and half. She taught History, English, Home Economics and sponsored the Pep Club. Dorothy ended her teaching career in favor of raising a family. She and Ken were blessed with 5 children, Angela, Stephanie, Tamara, Kenneth and Marty.
Dorothy possessed a healthy zest for life. She possessed a sharp wit, and an ever-present sense of humor. She was an avid reader and placed great value on continued learning, evidenced by her lengthy service on the Library Board. She was active in the First Congregational Church Choir, taught Sunday School and was a past President of the PEO Chapter CL. She had served as a scout leader for the local Brownies, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. Dorothy was also active in Pinochle Club and numerous Bridge Clubs. She had a strong and nurturing relationship with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who fondly referred to her as "Nannie."
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Marguerite Fry, Irene Craig; and an infant brother.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth of Ogallala; 5 children, Angela (Dr. Bart) Kolste of Ogallala, Stephanie Burton of Cave Creek, AZ, Tamara (Dan) Anderson of Aurora, CO, Kenneth (Jacqueline) Hagge of Charleston, SC, Marty (Judi) Hagge of Phoenix, AZ; 12 grandchildren, Brittany (Justin) Hardin of Paxton, Michelle (Ben) Kennett of Kazakastan,Trent Kolste of Steamboat Springs, CO, Scott (Julia) Burton of Phoenix, AZ, Drew Anderson of Denver, CO, Courtney Kolste of Lodgepole, Dax Anderson of Fort Collins, CO, Greg, Aaron and Alyson Hagge of Phoenix, AZ, and Alexandra and Kenneth Hagge lll of Summerville, SC; 6 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM at First Congregational Church in Ogallala with Pastors Lisa Hadler and Phil Ewert officiating. Inurnment will be in the Ogallala Cemetery. Memorial book signing will be on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala.
