EITHEL E. STINNETTE, 84 of Ogallala, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala.
Eithel was born September 21, 1934, at Hamlet, Nebraska to Orville and Ruth (Meyer) Daniel. She went to school in the Hamlet area before attending Brule High School.
Eithel eventually moved to Wauneta, where she went to work cleaning houses and at the cafe. It was at the cafe where she met Les Stinnette, who had been working at the filling station just across the street. The two were later married on November 8, 1951. One week later, Les was called to serve in Korea. The two were reunited upon his discharge, and the couple made their home in Wauneta for a time, before Les went to work for General Electric. The family moved all over the U.S. living in their 8 x 40 trailer, pulled behind their green Oldsmobile. The family settled in the Denver area for several years before permanently settling in Ogallala in 1968. Eithel worked at TRW and the Holiday Inn before her retirement.
Eithel was a talented seamstress and made many of her own dresses. She was also gifted musically, possessing a beautiful voice and the ability to play both the piano and guitar by ear. Eithel was her grandchildren's biggest fan and loved spending as much time with them as possible.
Eithel was preceded in death by her husband, Les; sons in law, Rusty Burns and Bill Musick; brother, Jack Daniel; and sister, Irene Fisher.
