GALE SUBBERT, 76 of Ogallala, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018, at his home.
Gale was born July 20, 1942, at Swisher, Iowa to Herman and Luella Subbert. He attended school in Sac City, IA, before entering the U.S. Air Force where he served as a radio operator. While in the Air Force, Gale also played on their traveling baseball club as an outfielder.
Following his discharge, Gale attended school at Cedar Rapids, IA where he studied electronics. He would eventually move to Ogallala, where he worked as an electrical tech at TRW, where he would eventually meet the love of his life, Carol (Poss) Pepper. On March 17, 1984, the couple married, and they continued living in Ogallala where they both worked at TRW.
Gale worked for TRW/ASC for over 40 years, retiring in 2010. He was an avid outdoorsman, fishing, hunting, and camping whenever he got the chance. He also enjoyed bowling. In later years, Gale just liked to sit outside on the deck and watch the cars drive by, and the corn grow (which he would eventually come to resent for blocking his views). Gale was a great guy who would seemingly do anything for anybody. He loved his family and was loved much in return.
Gale was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Patrick Febry; brothers-in-law, Don Williams, and Roger Feilmeier.
Survivors include his wife, Carol of Ogallala; his children, Scott (Rebecca) Subbert of Las Vegas, NV, Tammy Febry and Rick Pepper, both of Ogallala, Dalene (Vince) Berger of Moorhead, ND; 9 grandchildren, Krista (Ty) Nord, Chris (Desarae) Martin, Mason Subbert, Conner Subbert, Jason Febry, Mark Berger, John Brogan, Amy Brogan, and Lori Sellers; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; his siblings, Ronald (Karol) Subbert of Pella, IA, Patricia Williams of Salina, KS, Kenneth (Aesuk) Subbert of Swisher, IA, James (Sharon) Subbert of Casselberry, FL, Barbara Feilmeier of Early, IA, Bruce (Karen) Subbert of Stanton, IA; along with many other relatives and friends.
