GREG ANDERSON, 58 of Ogallala, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Lemoyne.
Greg was born February 13, 1960, at Panama City, Florida to Gary and May (Knutson) Anderson. The family moved around extensively throughout much of Greg's early years. He graduated from Hershey High School with the class of 1978.
In 1980, Greg moved to Ogallala where he started working at Century Link as a field tech. His tenure with the company would span the next 38 years. As recognizable as Greg was for his technical expertise, he was best known for his everpresent smile and magnetic personality. Always on the go, Greg managed to squeeze more life into 58 years than most could in twice that time. He enjoyed windsurfing, sailing, fishing, hunting, shooting, camping, and tinkering on just about anything. He enjoyed scuba diving and was fortunate enough to get to dive all over the world. Greg was a passionately curious lifelong learner. He was revered for his willingness to help anyone in need.
Greg was the kind of guy that would set his mind to a purpose, and always seem to be able to figure out how to get things done. He also had a love for photography and would shoot weddings, senior pictures, and sporting events. Greg lived his life with a zealousness that just isn't common. He will be sorely missed by family and friends alike.
Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents; and a brother Geff Anderson and brother in law Dario Brisighella.
Survivors include his son, Dane (Jamie) Anderson of Ogallala; daughter, Demi Anderson of Ogallala; father, Gary Anderson of Lemoyne; mother, May Palmer of Parker, CO; sisters, Sandy (Jeff Groom) Anderson-O'Banion of Gunnison, CO, Joy Brisighella of Cache Valley, UT; 2 stepbrothers, Bryan and Tim Cooper, both of Richardson, TX; nephews, Ian Obanion, Brandon Clark; niece, Natalie (Max) Butler; great-niece Mia Butler; significant other, Regina Ielacqua of North Platte; along with many other relatives and friends.
