Helen was born June 29, 1926 at Crab Orchard, Nebraska to Ivan and Velma (Holthan) Pierce. She attended school at Big Springs, Nebraska.
On September 23, 1943, Helen married Robert Kenfield at Julesburg, Colorado. Shortly after their nuptials, Robert was sent overseas to serve in WWII. Helen worked at Buenz Drug before eventually devoting herself to handling the books for their business.
Helen was an avid gardener and loved flowers. She also loved to bake; particularly pies, which were sought after prizes among the family. She greatly enjoyed entertaining her family over holidays, and got great satisfaction in spoiling her grandchildren. Helen also appreciated the challenge of a good crossword puzzle.
