JAMES "JIM" E. PERLINGER, Sr. 89 of Paxton, passed away February 15, 2020, at Great Plains Health in North Platte.
Jim was born December 31, 1930, at Elsie, Nebraska, to John and Anna (Neuberger) Perlinger. He attended rural country school south of Paxton.
In 1951, Jim entered the U.S. Air Force. Following his discharge in 1953, Jim returned to Paxton where he farmed with his dad and the Welch family. In May of 1957, Jim married Emma Welch, and their union was blessed with six children.
In April of 1994, Jim married Pat Isley, and the couple made their home in Paxton. Jim worked at ASC for many years and also raised Black Angus cattle. Jim loved spending time working his cattle and riding his John Deere tractor. To Jim, a hard day's work was correctly ended with a bowl of homemade vanilla ice cream and oreo cookies. Jim was a creature of habit, from the Total cereal in the morning to the 7-Up that always filled his cup. One thing is for sure, Jim made a lot of wonderful memories with his family, full of laughter and times that elicit smiles.
Jim was preceded in death by a son, Tim; his parents; brothers, Johnny, Fred, Bernard, and Larry; and sisters, Phyllis, Helen, and Pauline.
Survivors include his wife, Pat of Paxton; children, Sunnee & Herb Davison and James & Ashia Perlinger Jr. all of Lincoln, Bob & Paige Perlinger of Benton, AR, Randy Perlinger of Paxton, Chad & Tania Perlinger of Ogallala; two stepchildren, Lisa (JD) Baltzell and Kendra (Travis) Jay, all of Paxton; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanne (Gene) Krab and Stella (Joe) Brabham of Paxton; along with many other relatives and friends.
