Janice M. Miller, 75, of Ogallala, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Ogallala Community Hospital.
Janice was born on August 5, 1946, at Julesburg, Colorado, to Oscar and Ella (Reed) Miller. She graduated from Julesburg High School with the class of 1965.
Janice had fond memories of her high school years, including being in the pep club and following the football boys to a championship game in Fruita, Colorado. She also loved farm life. Wheat harvest on the farm was always a treasure, as Janice always looked forward to cooking for and serving the harvest crew with her mother. Janice loved her pet cats that they had on the farm. In the mid 1970s, the family moved into town where they had built a new home. This was also one of her highlights. Janice enjoyed traveling and had made many special trips to Oregon to visit her grandparents and other relatives. After her parents passed away, Janice not only missed them greatly, but also all of their special trips.
Some of her interests were puzzles and mounting them on boards to display in her home. She also loved reading, from books about famous people to the newspaper. She would often read the paper front and back, always saving an abundance of articles that were of interest to her.
Janice enjoyed people and was very faithful. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Carol Handel, nephew, Bill Handel.
Survivors include her niece Dana Goddard of Arvada, her longtime caregiver, Tammy Baker of Ogallala, along with other relatives and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the Ogallala United Methodist Church in Janice's memory care of Tammy Baker, 1217 East 3rd Street, Ogallala, NE. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com.
Private burial will be held in the Ogallala Cemetery, with Rev. Chuck Rager officiating.
