JOLENE JOYCE WHITTEN, 75 of Julesburg, CO, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Sedgwick County Memorial Nursing Home in Julesburg.
Jolene was born November 14, 1939 in Julesburg to Leo and Emma (Howerter)
Whitten. She graduated from Julesburg High School.
Jolene worked for TRW in Ogallala for nearly 20 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Julesburg.
Jolene's hobbies included crocheting and making candy and cookies at Christmas for
her family and her friends. She had a passion for dogs, and loved them as though they were her children.
Jolene was preceded in death by her parents, a brother-in-law, and an infant nephew.
Jolene is survived by three brothers, Larry Whitten of Loveland, CO, Doug (Judy)
Whitten of Lakewood, Dennis Whitten of Julesburg; and two sisters, Cheryl (Vic)
Anderson of Loveland and, Judy Zimmerman of Big Springs; along with several nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established in her memory. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com.
The family chose cremation. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11 AM at the Julesburg Cemetery with Pastor Art Roth officiating.
Prairie Hills Funeral Home of Ogallala is in charge of arrangements.
