Josef Nesvara passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024, at the Ogallala Community Hospital. Cremation was chosen. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Prairie Hills Funeral Home, with Pastor Brian Brassfield officiating. Joe was born to Josef Sr. and Marie Nesvara in Czechoslovakia on March 31, 1944. Eventually Joe, his parents and one sibling relocated to the United States, and he graduated high school in North Platte, Nebraska.
He married and had 4 children. Throughout the years, he held many jobs such as an accountant and working in a warehouse. He eventually got remarried to Fonda (Johnston) and spent over 20 wonderful years together until she passed away in 2017. Joe really enjoyed playing pool, collecting cars and knives. He had a passion for woodworking and handcrafted some really beautiful pieces throughout his years.
He really enjoyed being in the mountains whenever he was able, however he also loved sitting outside on his porch enjoying nature. He thoroughly loved dogs and the Huskers. He also loved tending to his rose bushes that had been passed down from loved ones through the years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Josef Sr. and Marie Nesvara; sister Jana Ridinger, and his wife Fonda.
His survivors include his children Joe (Colleen) Nesvara, Mike Nesvara, Jeff (Nicki) Nesvara, and Melissa Bittner; grandchildren Jack Nesvara, Samantha (Josh) Terry, Austin (Teasha) Nesvara, Dalton (Kay) Nesvara, Jacob Nesvara, Jaxson Nesvara, Charlie Halligan, Jessie Ortega, Seth Bittner, and Marlee Bittner, as well as 10 great grandchildren.
