KAREN SENYARD, 69 of Ogallala, NE, passed away Monday, August 3, 2020, at Denver Hospice.
Karen was born March 27, 1951, at Brule, Nebraska, to Raymond and Lottie (Branz) Armstrong. She attended school in Brule before graduating from Perkins County High School with the class of 1969. Karen went on to attend Western Nebraska Technical College in Sidney.
On January 20, 1971, Karen married Donald Senyard at Brule. Their union was blessed with four children, Tracy, Michael, Kevin, and Michelle. The family made their home in Ogallala, where Karen worked at Pizza Hut for many years.
Karen was quite creative and loved crafting. She enjoyed a good game of cards and playing various games with her family. Karen enjoyed a good change of scenery, and always looked forward to the vacations they got to take as a family. She was a gardener, and at times, liked to go treasure hunting. She adored her grandkids and loved spending time with them.
Karen actively volunteered her time on Cancer walks and fundraisers, as well as CASA. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Tracy Senyard.
Survivors include her husband, Don of Ogallala; sons, Michael and Kevin (Channing) Senyard all of Ogallala; daughter, Michelle (Joshua) Borges of Sterling, Co; five grandchildren, Mileena, Anniston, Leah, & Olivia Borges, and Zavian Senyard. Survivors also include her siblings, Avis Leach of Julesburg, CO, Dayton (Jeanine) Armstrong of Ogallala, Phyllis (James) McBride of Sterling, CO, Susan Armstrong of Ogallala, Linda Crawford of Cold Springs, TX, Kathy (Mike) Wheatly of Ogallala; sister-in-law, Billie Roebuck of Venango; along with many other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Karen's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where a recording of the service will be posted for those unable to attend.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at 11:00 am at the New Life Church in Ogallala with Pastor Dave Cummings officiating.
