Keith W. Hiner, age 85 of Ogallala, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala.
Keith was born January 27, 1929 in Arthur, Nebraska, the second twin of Edwin and Violet Hiner. He spent most of his growing up years in Arthur. Keith graduated from Arthur County High School in 1947. He served in the Korean War and was discharged in 1953.
Keith married Corrine Gake on November 27, 1955 in North Platte, Nebraska. To this union were born 3 children, Susan, Cindy and Kenneth. They made their home in Ogallala.
Keith was preceded in death by his wife, Corrine; his parents, Edwin and Violet Hiner; 2 brothers, Charles Hiner and twin brother, Kenneth Hiner; many aunts and uncles; and one nephew, Terry Jack Kramer.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Hiner and his wife, Bonnie of Ogallala; 2 daughters, Susan Lee of Kearney, and Cindy and her husband, Marty Martin of Crawford; a sister, Twila Kramer of Arthur; 8 grandchildren, Tim Hiner of Gulfport, Miss., Shawn Hiner of Ogallala, Stacey and her husband, Mike Schaefer of Whitman, Desiree’ Lee of Lincoln, Jenni and her husband, Devin Nielsen of Lincoln, Nick Lee of Kearney, Brianna Soester of Central City, and Matthew Martin of Kearney; and 15 great grandchildren.
A memorial has been established in Keith’s memory. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the services will also be streamed live for those unable to attend.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home Chapel in Ogallala with Pastor Phil Ewert officiating.
Cremation was chosen. Inurnment with military honors provided by the Keith County Veteran’s Organization will be in the Ogallala Cemetery following the services.
Visitation for memorial book signatures will be held on Thursday, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala.
