ARDELL "KEITH" SCHRACK, 76, of Ogallala, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021, at his home.
Keith was born on August 29, 1944, at Imperial, Nebraska, to Everett and Greeta (Rowley) Schrack. He attended the Blanche rural school.
On May 28, 1965, Keith married Norma Jean Dickerson at the Methodist Church in Ogallala. Their union was blessed with two children, Corey and Stefanie. Keith was a longtime employee at TRW, retiring after 35 years. He subsequently worked for the Game and Parks Commission, which he truly enjoyed because it involved the people and the outdoors. Keith had learned to cook at a young age, and for many years, enjoyed cooking in his off-hours at several of the clubs in Ogallala like the Vets and Elks. His crowning culinary work was his prime rib, which he would often cook for Christmas at the senior center.
Keith was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish. He enjoyed people and loved to visit. Keith was a garage sale enthusiast, perhaps as much for the people as the deals. He loved his family deeply, and like any good grandpa, cherished all the time that he could spend around his grandkids.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Norma of Ogallala; children, Corey (Robin) Schrack of Edgerton, KS, Stefanie Schrack (fiance, Andy Cole) of Ogallala; grandchildren, Corbin & Carson Schrack, and Gavin Cole; two brothers, Gary (Sue) Schrack of Ogallala, Eddie Schrack of North Platte; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial has been established in Keith's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com. Services will be streamed live at methodistchurchogallala.com.
Services will be on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Ogallala United Methodist Church with Rev. Chuck Rager officiating. Interment will be in the Ogallala Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday, from 4 pm until 6 pm at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala.
