LAWRENCE "LARRY" EDWARD PRIBYL, 82 of Lakewood, CO, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018, at his home.
Larry was born May 26, 1935, at Paxton, Nebraska to Joseph R. and M. Huberta (Kildare) Pribyl. He graduated from Paxton High School and went on to attend Kansas State University before eventually obtaining his Master's Degree from the University of Northern Colorado.
On June 29, 1963, Larry was united in marriage to Carolyn Cling. The couple made their home in Lakewood, Colorado where they both worked in education for many years, Larry as an 8th grade English teacher. Larry enjoyed dabbling in real estate sales and golf in the summers and did more following his retirement in the early 1990's. He also enjoyed spending time with his dad farming and working on construction projects. They were good hunting and fishing partners.
Larry was multitalented and enjoyed a broad range of activities. In addition to his love of the outdoors, he always enjoyed the arts, even singing in a barbershop group. Larry had the true heart of an educator and had a way of cultivating and developing people in his everyday interactions, long after he'd left the classroom. One of the greatest perks of retirement was all the time he got to spend with his family.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his children, Larry J. Pribyl of Broomfield, CO, Brenda (Rob) Lawson of Silt, CO; grandchildren, Julia Pribyl (fiance, Jared) of Columbia, SC; Rebecca Lawson of Silt, CO, John Lawson (Miriah) of Clifton, CO, and Robbie Lawson of Tampa, FL; sister, Mary Dianne Fox of Paxton; nieces and nephews, Pat Fox, Cathy Fox both of Paxton, Jane (Kelly) Fulcher of Seattle, WA, Scott (Mindy) Cling, and Tammy Cling of Phoenix, AZ; aunt, Marie Bortner of North Platte; along with many other relatives and friends.
