Lee Allen Robinson Jr.

Lee Allen Robinson Jr, son of Lee Allen and Mary Ruth (Burlingame) Robinson, was born on October 3, 1947, at the Lambert Hospital in Princeton, MO, and passed away May 2, 2021, at the age of 73.
Lee grew up on a farm east of Mercer, MO. When not needed at home, Lee worked for various farmers in the area along with McReynolds Feed and Produce in Mercer, MO, graduating high school in 1965.
Lee went to work for the CRI&P Railroad in 1965, where he was given the nickname "Robby," that he carried to his death. He worked for the RR. until he was drafted into the U.S. Army in late 1966. Lee took Basic Training in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, and A.I.T. at Ft. Gordon, GA, where he received a security clearance before being sent to Vietnam. He also spent time in Ft. Lewis, WA, before being discharged.
Following his discharge, Lee married Betty Jo Bowery on June 5, 1968, and subsequently went back to work for the CRI&P RR. In 1975, when he couldn't hold a job west of the Mississippi, he quit and went to work for the Burlington Northern RR in Glendive, MT. During his career, Lee worked as a Fireman, Brakeman, Clerk/Operator, Dispatcher, Chief Dispatcher, Coal Scheduler, and as a Trainmaster at various locations in Iowa, Illinois, Montana, Nebraska, Texas, and Wyoming. He retired in 2007 after more than 42 years of railroad service and moved to Lemoyne.
Lee enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, and playing cards. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Lee is survived by his wife, Betty Jo of Lemoyne; son, Teddy Robinson and wife, Michelle of Alliance; daughter, Tammy Hall of East Palatka, FL; four grandchildren, Teri (Austin) Welke of Boise, ID, Cody Robinson of Kearney, Alex Hall of Copperas Cove, TX, Tomi Kay Hall of Scottsbluff; along with many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Keystone-Lemoyne Volunteer Fire Department in Lee's memory. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the service will be streamed live.
Memorial services will be Monday, May 10, 2021, at 10:00 am at the Grace Point Church in Ogallala, with Pastor Curtis Tschetter officiating. Inurnment with military honors will be in the Ogallala Cemetery. Casual clothes are strongly encouraged, and camouflage is preferred.
