MILDRED JENSEN, 95 of Ogallala, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Indian Hills Manor.
Mildred R. Jensen was born April 19, 1924 north of Lemoyne, NE the daughter of George H. and Nellie G. (Keenan) Wilson. She received her education in two country schools in Arthur County and grew to womanhood in Arthur County, NE.
Mildred married Albert Larsen, and as a young bride moved to the North Platte River valley, just a short distance from the Kingsley dam as it was nearing completion. The pillions were being driven. Later that fall as the water began to rise they moved farther up the river. By the spring of 1941, the water had risen to there so they had to move again up into the canyon. In the early winter, a baby daughter had come to join them. Then a year later a son was born.
Mildred was employed by Good-All Electric from 1951 to 1960.
Mildred was united in marriage to Elwood O. ''Red'' Jensen on January 12, 1964, at Castle Rock, CO. The couple resided in Denver, CO where she was employed by Hathaway Instruments until her retirement in 1969. The couple moved to Ogallala, NE in 1983.
Mildred's hobbies included crocheting, flowers, crafts, and music.
Survivors include daughter, Phyllis Richardson of Grant; son, Gilbert and wife Beverly Larsen of North Platte, NE; two step-sons, Richard (Amy) Jensen of Tempe, AZ and Gene Jensen of Denver, CO; step-daughter, Janice Dorman of Lefors, TX; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Nina Jorgensen and John Skutchan; and other relatives and friends.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elwood "Red"; three brothers, Jack, John, and Leonard; two sisters, Vivian and Helen; and two infant sisters.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 2:00pm at Prairie Hills Funeral Home with Bobby Brueggeman officiating. Cremation will follow, and interment of cremains will be in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, NE.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at Prairie Hills Funeral Home.
