MINDY SCHULZ, 65 of Ogallala, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Mindy was born February 4, 1954, at Ogallala, Nebraska, to Charles T. "Chuck" and Ardis D. (Hilliard) Mueller. She attended grade school at St. Luke's Catholic School in Ogallala and graduated from Ogallala High School with the class of 1972. Mindy went on to attend the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Athletic Coaching in 1976 and a Master of Arts degree in Physical Education from Ball State University in 1978.
On October 23, 1982, Mindy married Tim Schulz at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ogallala. The couple made their home in Ogallala, and their union was blessed with two girls, Timarie and Tiffany. Mindy was a teacher in Grand Island from 1978-1979, Central City from 1979-1981, and Ogallala from 1981-2018, teaching physical education and the sciences.
Mindy was vibrant and lived life with enthusiasm. Her energy was visible, from her bright smile and kind eyes to her colorful outfits. She was fearless and loved to take on new adventures. She was creative, always busy, and hard working. Her creativity spanned from decorating cigar boxes to crafting cornhusk dolls. She was often seen with paint on her clothes or hands. She also had a special place in her heart for her pets, common and uncommon alike, such as parrots, hedgehogs, chinchillas, sugar gliders, ferrets, horses, and dogs.
Mindy was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Jerry; sister-in-law, Barbara Mueller; and her parents-in-law.
Survivors include her husband, Tim Schulz of Ogallala; daughters, Timarie (Ryan) Tushner of Fremont and Tiffany Schulz of Lincoln; grandchildren, Tanner, Timberlin, and Teakyn Tushner; brothers, Charles "Mike" Mueller of Cheyenne, WY and Marty (Bonnie) Mueller of Ogallala; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ogallala with Father Bryan Ernest as Celebrant. Interment of cremains will be in the Ogallala Cemetery on a later date.
Visitation will be Friday, December 6th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Prairie Hills Funeral Home. A Rosary will follow at 6:00 pm at St. Luke's Church.
