MURIEL E. ADAMS, 71 of Ogallala, passed away June 25, 2019, at the Ogallala Community Hospital.
Muriel was born August 4, 1947, at Sutherland, Nebraska to Montford and Harriette (Hemphill) Geiger. She graduated from North Platte High School.
In 1977, Muriel married Rodney Adams. The couple raised five children, Virginia, Eugene, James, Sabrina, and John. The family moved around often until finally settling in Ogallala in the late 1980's. While in Ogallala, Muriel worked at TRW, then Marshalltown at Oshkosh making pressure gauges. She would eventually go to work at the fish farm at Lisco.
Muriel was humble and had a willingness to help others, even when she didn't have a lot for herself. At times, Muriel had a stubborn streak, perhaps most prominently displayed in her competitive nature.
Muriel was preceded in death by her parents, Montford and Harriette Geiger; brother, Clark Geiger; and daughter, Sabrina Adams.
Survivors include her children, Virginia Howell, and her husband, Terry of Ogallala, Eugene Adams of Ogallala, James Adams and his wife, Andrea of Big Springs, John Adams and his wife, Shelli of Sterling, CO; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandson; two siblings, Anthony (Arlene) Geiger of Lincoln, Carolyn Fromme of North Platte; along with many other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Muriel's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com.
