Norma J. McCormick, age 88 of Lewellen, passed away October 29, 2015 at the Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala.
Norma was born March 7, 1927 at Tate, Nebraska to Ralph "Cappy" and Hazel (Hopkins) Dodson. She graduated from Venango High School with the class of 1947.
Norma attended nursing school through Mary Lanning at Hastings. Following her education, she worked as a nurse at the hospital in Lewellen.
In March of 1949, Norma married Neil “Pike” McCormick in the Lewellen United Methodist Church parsonage. Their union was blessed with 3 children, Nicki, Terry and Patrick.
Norma loved playing pinochle, cooking and baking (especially chocolate cake and fried chicken). She belonged to the hobby club and crafty ladies. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Norma was preceded in death by her son, Terry in 2005.
Survivors include her husband, Neil “Pike” McCormick of Lewellen; daughter, Nicki (Sid) Colson of Elsie; son, Patrick (Karen) McCormick of Lewellen; daughter in law, Rose McCormick of Ellis, Kansas; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Myron (Bonnie) Dodson & Merwin (JoAnn) Dodson, all of Venango; and several other relatives and friends.

Services will be on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Lewellen United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeniffer Brand officiating. Burial will be in the Plum Creek Cemetery northeast of Lewellen.
Visitation will be on Sunday, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala.
