PATRICK FEBRY, 71 of Ogallala, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at his home.
Patrick was born March 28, 1946, in Lancaster, England to William and Elizabeth (Higginson) Febry. At the age of 3, Patrick moved with his family to the United States. He grew up in Hill City, South Dakota and attended school in the Black Hills area.
Following high school, Pat entered the U.S. Army. Following his discharge in the mid-1960's, Pat worked in the gold mines of South Dakota and Montana. He would eventually move to Gillette, Wyoming to work in the coal mines and trucking; it was in Gillette that he met the love of his life, Tammy Pepper. The two enjoyed a relationship that spanned 30 years, and in 2009, the two were married. Not long after they were married, the couple relocated to Ogallala where they were closer to family. Pat got a job with Paulsen Inc., which he enjoyed until his health would no longer allow him to work.
Pat had a colorful personality. He had a good sense of humor and delighted in teasing people and making them laugh. Pat had a fantastic memory and was a fast and avid reader. He made friends with most everyone and held his family above all else. Pat had a particular fondness for the Minion characters in the Pixar movies and enjoyed collecting a range of Minion merchandise. He was also very close to his dogs, who he loved very much.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy of Ogallala; 2 sons, Chris (Desarae) Martin of Holdrege, Jason Febry of Alliance; 5 grandchildren, Preston Schultheiss, Grayson, Bailey, and Lane Febry; 3 sisters, Susan (Wayne) Pond, Holly (Arland) Ulvestad, Deb (Dan) Chapman all of Brookings, SD; mother-in-law, Carol (Gale) Subbert of Ogallala; father in law, John Pepper (Edna Bates) of Ogallala, brother-law, Ricky Pepper of Ogallala; sister-in-law, Dalene (Vincent) Berger of Moorhead, ND; along with many other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Patrick's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com.
Memorial services will be on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala. Interment of cremains will be at the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell at a later date.
