RALPH "STAN" FECHT SR. 82, of Lemoyne, passed away February 9, 2022, at home with his family by his side.
Stan was born January 6, 1940, at Gothenburg, Nebraska to Gerhardt H. and Viola E. (Jungren) Fecht. He graduated from Gothenburg High School. Stan was a talented athlete for the Gothenburg Swedes, where he lettered in football, basketball, and track.
Stan learned to hunt, trap and fish at an early age and enjoyed being out-of-doors. He played baseball, golfed, and bowled. A highlight of his bowling was scoring a perfect 300 game at the Cozad lanes as a member of a Monroe Auto league.
On November 27, 1960, Stan married RoseMary Nichelson at Gothenburg. The couple was blessed with two children, Ralph Jr., and Brenda. The family lived in Gothenburg for many years. Stan was a budget coordinator at Monroe Auto in Cozad before he established Fecht & Kotschwar Fur Buyers with his brother-in-law. He continued in the fur business until he moved to Ogallala, where he and his son operated Fecht's Finds, an antiques and usable business for a short time.
Upon retirement, Stan thoroughly enjoyed spending time casting lines at Lake Ogallala, where he earned the nickname, 'Stan the Fisherman.'
Stan was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda L. McClellen, two brothers, William and Ronald Fecht, and nephews Gary Fecht and Kelly Kotschwar.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, RoseMary Fecht of Lemoyne; son, Ralph Fecht Jr.; grandchildren, Travis McClellen & Megan (Josh) Sitorius; great-grandchildren, Chandler & Lorelie; three sisters, Vicki (Lawrence) Lutjemeyer of Syracuse, Betty Benson of Custer, SD, Jody (Gary) Kotschwar of Moorefield; brother, John (Karla) Fecht of Cozad; sisters-in-law, Nancy (Ray) Ulrich of Rockledge, Fl and Judy Penner of Cozad; and many other relatives and friends.

No local services are planned at this time. Private inurnment will be in the Gothenburg Cemetery.
