Robert Harmon

Robert D. "Bob" Harmon, 92, of Ogallala, passed away on November 19, 2024, at his home. Cremation was chosen and graveside service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Friday December 13, 2024, at Ogallala City Cemetery, with Pastor Curtis Tschetter officiating. Bob was born at Ogallala, Ne on June 28, 1932, to Wayne and Margaret (Enright) Harmon. He grew up in Ogallala and graduated from Ogallala High School in 1951. He then entered the Air Force in 1953 during the Korean War. He spent one year in Korea during this time. He specialized in aircraft radio control, which dictated the fighting & bombing action. Bob was honorably discharged in 1954 and attended one year at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Robert returned to Ogallala in 1956 and began farming in Grant. In 1958, he was united in marriage to Shirley Krajewski at Ogallala, Ne. To this union, one child was born, Michael Harmon. In 1962, he became employed with the State of Nebraska Public Service Commission as a grain elevator inspector, ensuring licensing and regulation were being adhered to.

During Bob's retirement years, he spent time fishing and traveling overseas on some special trips with Toni Cogil. He also very much enjoyed the time and fellowship while working with the son Mike on the farm.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Shirley.

Bob is survived by his children Michael (Vicki) Harmon, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
