ROBERT JEHOREK, 73 of Ogallala, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, FL.
Bob was born July 28, 1944, in Ogallala, Nebraska to Leo and Lucille (Coyner) Jehorek. He graduated from Brule High School in 1962. Bob's parents owned a dairy farm, which aided in cultivating a work ethic that became a trademark of his.
Following high school, Bob entered the U.S. Navy. Upon his discharge, he returned home, where he eventually met Teresa Robinette. The two were married on February 25, 1967. The couple made their home in Omaha, where Bob managed a Zieder Zee restaurant. He did so well there that he was asked to relocate to Fort Worth, Texas to rejuvenate the chain of restaurants there. In the mid 1970's Bob had an opportunity to buy a grain elevator in Platteville, CO, and the family remained in Colorado until 1989, when he and the family returned to Keith County to farm.
Bob was wired to work hard, and his mind always seemed to be processing his next endeavor. When he stepped away from full-time farming, he transitioned right into real-estate ventures. Bob loved to be outside; whether it was farming, mowing or gardening. He had an affinity for cars and had a particular loyalty to Ford. Bob had a colorful personality and loved to entertain family and friends over fine meals and drinks. He poured himself into whatever he was doing; success and good times always seemed to shine on him. Bob had very close relationships with each of his grandchildren. He liked to text message them and stay active in their lives. They made many wonderful memories working in the garden together, shooting or just spending time together. Bob will be missed sorely by his family and friends; as he loved them, so was he loved in return.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Leo & Lucille Jehorek; stepfather, Jake Brethauer; infant granddaughter, Brianna Hillis; brothers, Larry and Richard Jehorek; and nephew, Clay.
