Roger Carl Cook, age 61, of Ogallala, Nebraska, passed away at his home on April 19, 2023.
Roger was born on October 31, 1961, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was a proud graduate of Stapleton Public High School with the Class of 1980. Roger went on to study diesel mechanics in college but ultimately ended up working at a shop that specialized in foreign cars out of school.
On June 6, 1992, Roger married Linda Alexander at Lincoln, NE. They moved to Ogallala in 1993, where they enjoyed family, friends, and taking motorcycle rides whenever they got the chance.
Throughout his life, Roger was a dedicated workaholic who loved his family dearly. His grandchildren and children were his greatest joy, followed by his passion for his motorcycles. Roger had a terrific sense of humor and was known to be sarcastic from time to time. He was also known for his strong work ethic and exceptional mechanical skills, working for Goodyear, Humphries Auto, and T.O. Haas. He ended his career at Humphries, having made many wonderful friends and acquaintances over the years. Roger was always eager to help others.
Roger was preceded in death by his mother, LaDonna Cook; his wife, Linda Cook; and an infant baby sister.
Roger is survived by his father, Rich Cook; two daughters, Shanandoah (Tim) Scott and Breanna Cook and significant other Tyson Courter; three sons, Trevor (Naomi) Cook, Damon, and Brendin; sister, Suzette Casillas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will cherish his memory.
Services will be held on Monday, April 24, at 10:30 am at New Hope Church in Ogallala, with Pastor Matt Waitley officiating. Interment will follow in the Ogallala Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 23, from 2 pm until 4 pm at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala.
