RONALD D. DICKEN, 74 of Ogallala, NE, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018, at his home.
Ronald was born November 3, 1943, in Lewellen, NE to Otto Warren and Bertha Eileen (Hatterman) Dicken. Ronald grew up in Big Springs where he attended school. He met and married Linda Marcy, and they made their home in Greeley, CO. While in Greeley he worked for Monfort, Inc. at their meat processing facility. He started by cleaning the floors and ended his career as the head meat cutter for specialty cuts. In 1979, Ronald moved back to Big Springs where he worked at the truck stop and as a village marshall for three years. In 2015, Ronald moved to Ogallala.
Ronald loved fishing. He spent every weekend in the mountains trout fishing and riding motorcycles. He also spent a lot of time with his son on camping trips and hunting.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Jenny Kay.
Survivors include his son, Duaine (Cherry Ann) Dicken of Big Springs; two grandchildren, Trever and Tyler; companion, Jean Francescato of North Platte; sisters, Evalen Pickernell of Greeley, CO and Sherilyn Anderson of Washington; brother, Irvin (Phyllis) Dicken of Washington; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Ronald's memory. Condolences can be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Prairie Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chuck Rager officiating. No interment of cremains is scheduled at this time.
