Ronald Anthony Kalkowski

RONALD KALKOWSKI, 85 of Ogallala, NE, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Golden Ours Convalescent Home in Grant.

Ronald was born on January 2, 1931 at Ogallala, Nebraska to Emil and Isabelle (Jarosz) Kalkowski. He graduated from Ogallala High School with the class of 1949.

On April 2, 1951, Ronald was united in marriage to Maxine Cuba at the St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ogallala. The couple made their home in Ogallala and their union was blessed with 5 children.

Ronald was a long-time member of St. Luke's Catholic Church and the Ogallala Elk's Lodge #1760. Ronald's priorities in life came down to 4 primary tenets, faith, family, friends and farm.

Ronald was preceded in death by his wife Maxine in October of 2015 and 2 sisters, Geraldine and Rose.

Ronald is lovingly survived by his 4 sons, Scott Kalkowski and his wife Karen, Tom Kalkowski, Steve Kalkowski and his wife Donna and Kelly Kalkowski; daughter, Sheila Jorgensen and her husband Jerry; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Marlene (Bob) Grier of Alliance; sister-in-law, Eileen Combs; and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Luke's Catholic School in Ronald's memory. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the service will be streamed live for those unable to attend.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, January 14th, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ogallala with Father Bryan Ernest as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Ogallala Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM with a Rosary being recited at 5:00 PM at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala.
