Scott L. Ellard

February 6, 1965 — February 12, 2025

Scott Lee Ellard, 60, of Ogallala, Nebraska, passed away on February 12, 2025, at Perkins County Hospital in Grant, Nebraska.

Scott was born on February 6, 1965, in Bridgeport, Nebraska, to Leonard Ellard and Carol Brandt. He graduated from Muleshoe High School in Texas in 1983 and later earned an undergraduate degree from Western Texas College. Following his education, Scott worked at Excel Meat Packing Plant in Texas for several years.

In 1987, Scott married Jodi Ramsour, and the two were blessed with two children, Darbi and Tara. After their marriage ended, Scott moved to Ogallala, working alongside his dad at MCM Truck Repair, eventually taking over the business and continuing the family legacy.

Scott was a skilled mechanic and could seemingly fix anything. His skill and dedication to his customers built more than just a business but a collection of treasured friendships.

On October 27, 1996, Scott married Lisa Lyons in Estes Park, Colorado. Together, they built a life rooted in love, hard work, and devotion to family. Their union was blessed with two children, Katie and Dylon. Scott was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, taking great pride in supporting his children in all their endeavors.

Scott was known for his strong will, sense of humor, and unwavering loyalty. He was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Nebraska Athletics, especially football and volleyball. Beyond work, Scott enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening-especially planting his cherished zinnias-and spending time with his beloved dogs. He also found enjoyment in a bit of gambling from time to time.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Ellard of Ogallala; his children, Darbi (David) Seitler of Kearney, Katie Ellard (Adam Crandall) of Ogallala, and Dylon Ellard of Kearney; grandchildren, Jordan Clouse and Declan Seitler; his sister, Sheri (Manuel) Garcia of Arlington, TX; nieces and nephews, Taylor (Jeromy) Dart, Andy Walter, and Conner Beard; sister-in-law, Denice (Ben) Guenther of Papillion, NE; brothers and sisters-in-law, Darlene (Greg) Counts of Illinois, Regina Holt of Illinois, David Lyons of Illinois, and Ed Trebing of Texas; along with many extended family members.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Ellard, Carol Warren, and stepfather, Leon Warren, and an infant daughter, Tara.
