THOMAS H. ANDREWS, 62 of Lake McConaughy, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, CO.
Tom was born June 8, 1954 at Ft. Collins, CO to Harry and Carol (Kob) Andrews. Tom grew up on a turkey farm in Kersey, CO. He attended high school in Kersey and went on to attend the University of Colorado at Denver.
For several years, Tom worked with the Chicago Board of Trade. He also spent time as a chef in various restaurants in the Chicago area. On September 25, 1992, Tom married Glenda Johnston. The couple lived all over Colorado before eventually making their home south of Lake McConaughy in 2004.
Tom enjoyed fishing whenever he got the chance. He especially enjoyed the occasions when he could go deep sea fishing. He was a fabulous cook, and his BBQ attracted quite a following over the years. It wasn't uncommon to find people enjoying food, fun and entertainment at Andrews cabin at Lake Mac. He also enjoyed woodworking, and became very good at it.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael Andrews.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Glenda of Lake McConaughy; sister, Kathy Andrews of Ft. Collins, CO; 2 nephews, Andrew (Abby) Andrews, Mitch Andrews; great niece, Autumn Andrews; several cousins and many good friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the New Hope Church - Poland Mission Fund or Hospitality House - North Colorado Medical Center Foundation. Condolences can be shared online at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the service will be streamed live for those unable to attend.
Services will be on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11am at the New Hope Church in Ogallala, NE with Pastor Eric Wait officiating. No interment of cremains is planned at this time.
A memorial book signing will be on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 1pm to 5pm at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala, NE.
