Velma “Sally” M. Tripp, age 95 of North Platte, passed away January 22, 2014 at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.
Sally was born June 3, 1918 at Keith County, Nebraska to Perry and Nina (Blair) Schwasinger. She graduated from Ogallala High School.
On October 12, 1939, Sally married Thomas Tripp. In 1970, the couple built a home in North Platte, where they lived nearly their entire married lives. Tom worked with the Union Pacific Railroad and Sally at Gambles as a clerk for several years. Following their retirement, Sally enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards and traveling with her husband and friends.
Sally enjoyed walking, swimming and staying active. She was also and avid reader.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, in 1996; her parents; 4 sisters, Pauline Anderson, Irene Duckworth, Virginia Tuttle and Nina "Evelyn" Conway; 2 brothers, Donald Schwasinger and Perry Schwasinger, Jr.
Survivors include her sister, Bernice "Honey" Hamilton of Wiggins, CO; sister-in-law, Mildred Schwasinger of Ogallala; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Gubser Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Chuck Rager officiating. Burial will be in the Ogallala Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gubser Funeral Home in Ogallala.
