Wilma Ruth Weimer of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away at Linden Court on Monday, July 19, 2021, at the age of 101.
Wilma was born to Floyd and Eva (Dye) Shoemaker on December 29, 1919, in Alliance, NE, where she grew up. She attended Alliance Public Schools, graduating from Alliance High School in 1937.
Wilma married Jack Weimer on September 1, 1940, in Scottsbluff, NE. They moved to Sidney in 1941, and in 1970, to Fort Morgan, CO. Wilma moved in with her daughter on October 31, 2019, and to Linden Court Nursing Home in the Fall of 2020.
Wilma was a member of the First Christian Church at Fort Morgan, the Order of Eastern Star, and loved playing bridge with her many friends. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; parents, Floyd and Eva Shoemaker; son, Gary Weimer; sister, Lorraine Hefti; and brother, Kennis Shoemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy, and husband, DeLos Ingersoll of Ogallala, NE; brother-in-law, Edward and wife Jessie Weimer of Dallas, TX; grandson, Gary, and wife, Jamie Armstrong of North Platte, NE; granddaughter, Kimberly, and husband, Kevin Keys of Omaha, NE; four great-grandchildren, Jessica Ferguson, Ellie Nelms, Karlie, and Hayden Armstrong; along with many other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Wilma's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com.
A Graveside service will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 2:00pm at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney, NE.
